Arsenal’s victory over Aston Villa on 24 August saw Bukayo Saka hit the landmark of 100 Premier League wins. Saka is still just 22 years old, so how does his record compare to other stars in the history of the league?

Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Matchday 2 saw Bukayo Saka end on the winning side for the 100th time in his Premier League career, despite still being just 22 years old.

That victory at Villa Park ensured that Saka became the third-youngest player to reach a century of Premier League wins, doing so four days younger than Manchester City’s Phil Foden when he achieved the landmark.

Wayne Rooney (22 years, 87 days) still holds the record for the youngest player to reach 100 Premier League wins, while former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fàbregas (22 years, 180 days) sits in second.

Youngest Players to 100 Premier League Wins

Saka also ranks highly in the list of the youngest Arsenal players to reach 100 league wins throughout history. His achievement places him third in the Arsenal ranking, behind both Fàbregas and Cliff Bastin, who reached 100 wins aged just 22 years and 171 days old in September 1934.

Both Fabregas and Bastin scored on the game that marked their 100th league win, too; something that Saka was unable to do, but he did provide an assist for Thomas Partey at Villa Park.

Youngest Arsenal Players to 100 League Wins

Despite his tender age, Saka hasn’t reached 100 Premier League wins in anywhere near the quickest time we’ve seen in the history of the competition, with his 100th victory coming in his 172nd appearance.

That record is held by Foden, who managed to reach 100 Premier League wins inside his first 127 appearances in the competition, just ahead of teammate Bernardo Silva (129) and both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ederson (130).

Having reached 100 Premier League wins at such a young age, there’s every chance that Saka could go on to trouble the all-time record for the most wins by a Premier League player. That record is currently held by Ryan Giggs, who won 407 matches in the competition, all at Manchester United. Giggs picked up his final Premier League win in May 2014 aged 40 years and 158 days old – an age that Saka would reach in 2041-42.
