Bournemouth were denied a late winner following a VAR check, and had to settle for a point in Sunday’s meeting with former manager Eddie Howe and his Newcastle side. Check out the best facts, stats and analyse Opta data from this Premier League match with our Bournemouth vs Newcastle stats page.

Bournemouth and Newcastle played out a 1-1 draw in this match, but the home side thought that they’d snuck all three points with an injury-time winner before VAR intervened to rule it out. Dango Ouattara thought he was the match-winner, but his goal was ruled to have come off his arm, so was ruled out.

Marcus Tavernier had put the Cherries into the lead in the first half following some sloppy play in midfield by Newcastle’s Joelinton, who was dispossessed by Antoine Semenyo before the Ghanaian crossed for his teammate to finish. Antony Gordon salvaged a point for the Magpies with just 14 minutes remaining, however. He stole in at the back post to divert Harvey Barnes’ cross into the back of the net from close range.
