Trent Alexander-Arnold reached 100 goal involvements for Liverpool in their 3-0 win over Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday, with his assist for Luis Díaz’s second goal of the afternoon pushing him to the century.

It was his 316th competitive appearance for the Reds, and his 100 goal involvements have arrived via 19 goals and 81 assists. Considering he is deployed in a deeper position than most creative players, his assist total is highly impressive.

Since he made his competitive debut for Liverpool on 25 October 2016 versus Tottenham in the League Cup, Alexander-Arnold’s 81 assists are the third most by a Premier League player in all competitions, only surpassed by Kevin De Bruyne (146) and teammate Mohamed Salah (92).

Salah (308 – 216 goals, 92 assists) is the one of only three players to have more goal involvements for Liverpool than the England international since his debut season in 2016-17, with the now-departed Roberto Firmino (162 – 100 goals, 62 assists) and Sadio Mané (157 – 120 goals, 37 assists) also above him.

In reaching the landmark on Saturday aged 25 years and 350 days old, he became the youngest player to reach 100 goals and assists combined since Steven Gerrard (25 years, 72 days) in August 2005.

His most productive season in a Liverpool shirt came in 2021-22, when he was involved in 20 goals across all competitions (2 goals, 18 assists), which overtook his efforts in 2019-20 – when they won the Premier League title – by one (19 – 4 goals, 15 assists).

Overall, 74 of his 100 goal involvements for Liverpool have come in the Premier League, with another 14 coming in the UEFA Champions League (including qualifiers). Of the remaining 13, six have come in the League Cup, two in the FA Cup, two in the UEFA Europa League, and one apiece in the Community Shield and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
