In the first of our three-part mini-series ‘The State of Analytics,’ we turn our attention to how the NFL has slowly adopted an analytical mindset despite some of the ‘old school’ mantras of the game. In reality, the thirst for knowledge by players, coaches, front offices and the viewing public is as excessive as any other sport.
We look back at the history of the movement, how it has changed the sport we watch today and what the future will hold as younger general managers and coaches replace some of the traditional thinkers.
