We’re not sure if you’ve noticed over the past few seasons but it has been raining Serie A goals. You know, the league most people associate with low-scoring matches. But the fact is that each of the last three seasons have averaged more goals per game than any across the last 70 years.
So that really begs the question…what gives? Why is this happening? Well, luckily for us, Analyst Managing Editor Ollie Hopkins dove into the detail on The Analyst earlier in the month, and in his special ‘behind the article’ podcast, he joins me for a chat about his findings and perhaps why we should all be tuning our TVs to the Italian top flight with Serie A goals flooding in.
‘Reads from the Analyst’ is a production by The Analyst. Visit theanalyst.com for more data-driven storytelling or join in the conversation on Twitter and Instagram accounts. You can also listen to our podcasts on your preferred podcast application by visiting our LinkTree.
