Episode three of our World Cup preview series took us deep into the battles in Group E, especially as we were joined by Albert Valor from Opta Jose and Linus Braun from Opta Franz who both believe their nations have the chance to go far in this tournament. After that long discussion – Matt Furniss, Graham Bell and Duncan Alexander took a look across Group F which, to some on paper, might not be the most intriguing of groups at the tournament, but two of our panellists might leave you believing that these are some of the must watch games in Qatar.

Episode two of our World Cup preview series saw us cast an eye across Group C and D. We were joined by Jean-Baptiste Caillet from Opta Jean to reflect on the injuries that have hampered the defending champions France’s preparations for the tournament, in particular the loss of Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante from the heart of Didier Deschamps’ midfield. Matt Furniss, Graham Bell and Oliver Hopkins also took a closer look at Argentina’s hopes in Group C having been made our supercomputer’s second favourites to win the tournament in Qatar, with one of the panel firmly sticking his neck on the line and backing Mexico to reach the final.

Episode one of our World Cup preview series saw us joined by Thomas Markhorst from Opta Johan and Michael Reid from Opta Joe as we took a look at what we can expect to see from Group A and B, with a particular focus on the Netherlands and England’s hopes for success at the tournament.
