The home for UEFA Champions League stats in 2023-24.

The UEFA Champions League is back.

After picking up their first UCL title last season – and their first European crown since the 1970 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup – Pep Guardiola’s Man City are looking to become just the second team to retain the trophy after Real Madrid in three consecutive years between 2016 and 2018.

Erling Haaland will be a key player in any potential success, after he top the scoring charts in 2022-23 with his 12 goals in addition to his record-breaking 36 Premier League goals.

Thirty-two teams have made it through to the Group Stage, six of those coming via qualifying. Only 16 will make it to the knockout stages, with eight dropping to the UEFA Europa League and the other eight exiting Europe altogether for 2023-24. There are some big-name absentees this season, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Ajax all missing out on qualification for the competition.

The 32 teams have been drawn into the following eight groups:

Group A: Bayern Munich, Manchester United, FC Copenhagen, Galatasaray.
Group B: Sevilla, Arsenal, PSV Eindhoven, Lens.
Group C: Napoli, Real Madrid, Braga, Union Berlin.
Group D: Benfica, Inter Milan, Red Bull Salzburg, Real Sociedad.
Group E: Feyenoord, Atlético Madrid, Lazio, Celtic.
Group F: Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Newcastle United.
Group G:  Manchester City, RB Leipzig, Crvena zvezda, Young Boys.
Group H: Barcelona, FC Porto, Shakthar Donetsk, Royal Antwerp.
