On the lookout for Tigers this week as the “FCS National Awards on Campus” headed to Jackson, Mississippi, for the latest stop on our 2024 tour.
Gary Reasons headed to the birthplace of J-Setting to catch up with the HBCU+ Team of the Week, the Jackson State Tigers, who had plenty of reasons to be strutting after defeating rival Southern 33-15 in Week 3.
The Tigers scored the first 23 points as 32,027 watched them win for the fifth straight time in the “Boombox Classic.” The SWAC squad enjoyed a balanced effort, including Irv Mulligan with 51 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Day Day Bright (eight solo tackles) and Joshua Nobles (six tackles, 2.5 sacks) anchoring the defense.
