Digital Writer (The Analyst)

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative part-time Digital Writer who will create content for The Analyst. Focused on U.S. sports such as NFL, NBA, MLB and PGA, the writer will use our industry-leading sports data to create interesting stories that will engage fans across multiple media platforms.

We’re after an avid sports fan who’s got a flair for writing timely and relevant sports content fit for a digital audience. It’d be a plus if they have experience in promoting that content across social media and growing an audience across multiple platforms. Knowledge of WordPress would also be a bonus.

What you’ll be doing:

— Grow The Analyst through written content and via interactions on social media.

— Play a major role in growing our U.S. social media channels, by bringing your own personality and voice to life.

— Assist in the management and content production on our website via our CMS.

— Liaise with The Analyst’s senior staff on content plans and social strategy around events.

— Work with the design team to develop the creative elements for video and other social content.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us…

— Great knowledge of U.S. sports, with a particular interest in NFL for the 2022 season.

— A strong understanding of how to use sports data to effectively create data-driven stories.

— Be a self-starter, independent and able to develop and nurture key relationships across teams.

— Willingness to master the use of our internal data tools.

— Strong organizational, communication and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. 

— The flexibility to work evenings and weekends around sporting schedules.

— Solid writing skills and the ability to write longer form content.

— Defining and developing engaging social media content.

Employment Type: Contractor

Pay Rate: Competitive

Hours per Week: 20 (part-time, with the option for more as needed during particular seasons).
