Senior Data Editor

Jonny Whitmore

Armed with the essential skills from his mathematics degree, Jonny’s career began in the Swiss Alps as a ski instructor. This role was as brief as it was painful for Jonny, snapping his ACL while skiing with his eyes closed (long story). In his search for new thrills, he accepted a role behind a desk coding and analysing sports data that saw him lead Stats Perform’s Data Analyst team in projects with major broadcasters and professional clubs. You can find Jonny managing The Analyst’s data usage, introducing advanced metrics and AI innovations in an approachable way, and trying to convince fans that numbers are as necessary in football as eyes are in skiing.
