Evan Boyd is a data scientist at Stats Perform. Like many sports statisticians, Evan’s dreams of becoming a professional baseball player died out by the sixth grade, so he turned to numbers and statistics to stay in the sports world. Previously working in Stats Perform’s research department, Evan learned to tell stories through data and will continue writing such pieces on The Analyst. Known for his dark humor and oddly strong opinions on time zones (everything should be on Central Time), you can now see Evan writing about college sports and baseball metrics. Outside of watching mid-major college basketball, you can find Evan playing bass or learning a new board game. Evan is a two-time champion of Statis Pro Baseball (among five other friends) and once won a lip sync battle for his performance of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.”
