FCS All-Americans … everywhere.
A wide-ranging array of talented players comprise the 2023 Stats Perform FCS All-America Team and Freshman All-America Teams, announced on Tuesday and presented by FedEx Ground.
The All-America team consists of 109 players representing all 13 FCS leagues and 57 schools. Defending national champion South Dakota State, UAlbany, Holy Cross and North Dakota State have the most selections with five each, while Montana State, UT Martin and Weber State are next up with four each.
The first team includes the trios invited to the upcoming announcements of the national players of the year: the Walter Payton Award with quarterbacks Max Brosmer of New Hampshire and Mark Gronowski of South Dakota State and Monmouth running back Jaden Shirden, and the Buck Buchanan Award with defensive end Terrell Allen of Tennessee State and linebackers Dylan Kelly of UAlbany and Billy Shaeffer of Lafayette.
In addition, 33 players and 32 schools comprise the Freshman All-America Team, including Montana running back Eli Gillman, the Jerry Rice Award recipient. Utah Tech is the only school with multiple selections.
