Former coach Doc Gamble (Oct. 20) – 2-5 record in 2022, 8-15 in three overall seasons

New coach Alonzo Hampton (Dec. 22) – Former UAPB assistant previously served as ULM’s assistant head coach/special teams coordinator

Bethune-Cookman (SWAC)

Former coach Terry Sims (Nov. 29) – 2-9 record in 2022, 38-39 in seven overall seasons

Position open after school rescinded agreement with Pro Football Hall of Famer Ed Reed

Cal Poly (Big Sky)

Former coach Beau Baldwin (Dec. 2) – 2-9 record in 2022, 4-21 in three overall seasons

New coach Paul Wulff (Dec. 6) – previously, Mustangs’ top assistant; 62-80 career record over eight seasons at Eastern Washington and four at Washington State

Central Connecticut State (Northeast)

Former coach Ryan McCarthy (Nov. 30) – 2-9 record in 2022, 17-18 in three overall seasons

New coach Adam Lechtenberg (Jan. 11) – Spent five seasons on Virginia Tech’s coaching staff and was CCSU’s offensive coordinator in 2010 and ‘11

Charleston Southern (Big South)

Former coach Autry Denson (Nov. 14) – 2-8 record in 2022, 14-22 in four overall seasons

New coach Gabe Giardina (Nov. 30) – went 37-17 in five-plus seasons as Albany State coach

Dayton (Pioneer)

Former coach Rick Chamberlain (Nov. 29) – 8-3 record in 2022, 107-46 in 14 overall seasons

New coach Trevor Andrews (Dec. 12) – was Western Michigan’s linebackers coach following long stint on William & Mary staff

Former coach Rod Milstead (Nov. 28) – 5-6 record in 2022, 17-33 in five overall seasons

New coach Lee Hull (Dec. 19) – led Morgan State to 2014 co-MEAC title and was 12-12 over two seasons; Howard’s offensive coordinator in 2022

Houston Christian (Southland)

Former coach Vic Shealy (Nov. 21) – 2-9 record in 2022, 18-75 in nine overall seasons

New coach Braxton Harris (Dec. 13) – Campbell’s associate head coach and recruiting coordinator; went 7-23 as Howard Payne’s coach from 2017-19

Former coach Charlie Ragle (Nov. 28) – 1-10 record in 2022

New coach Cody Hawkins (Dec. 9) – son of UC Davis coach Dan Hawkins had served on Aggies’ staff for six seasons

Jackson State (SWAC)

Former coach Deion Sanders (Dec. 3) – 12-0 record in 2022, 27-5 in three overall seasons; named new Colorado coach, but will coach JSU through Celebration Bowl on Dec. 17

New coach T.C. Taylor (Dec. 13) – Elevated from wide receivers/tight ends coach on Sanders’ staff to head coach

Former coach Blane Morgan (Nov. 21) – 1-10 record in 2022, 5-23 in three overall seasons

New coach Pete Rossomando (Dec. 10) – completed 2022 season as Charlotte’s interim coach and previously led New Haven and Central Connecticut State programs with 67-49 overall career record

Former coach Tom Gilmore (Nov. 21) – 2-9 record in 2022, 9-27 in four overall seasons

New coach Kevin Cahill (Dec. 19) – spent the last 10 seasons on Yale’s coaching staff, including as offensive coordinator since 2018

Mississippi Valley State (SWAC)

Former coach Vincent Dancy (Dec. 8) – 2-9 record in 2022, 10-38 in five overall seasons

New coach Kendrick Wade (Dec. 29) – MVSU alum was most recently Delta State’s wide receivers coach

New coach Ryan Beard (Dec. 16) – promoted from defensive coordinator

North Alabama (ASUN)

Former coach Chris Willis (Oct. 30) – 1-7 record in 2022, 20-34 in six overall seasons

New coach Brent Dearmon (Dec. 3) – went 10-1 in 2018 season at NAIA Bethel; offensive coordinator at three different FBS programs

Former coach Sam Washington (Dec. 15) – 7-4 record in 2022, 31-15 in four overall seasons

New coach Vincent Brown (Jan. 6) – Former New England Patriots’ All-Pro linebacker has been defensive coordinator at UConn, Howard and William & Mary

Northern Colorado (Big Sky)

Former coach Ed McCaffrey (Nov. 21) – 3-8 record in 2022, 6-16 in two overall seasons

New coach Ed Lamb (Dec. 6) – previously, BYU assistant coach; was 45-47 at Southern Utah from 2008-15

Former coach Troy Taylor (Dec. 10) – 12-1 record in 2022, 30-8 in three overall seasons

New coach Andy Thompson (Dec. 13) – Elevated from defensive coordinator and linebackers coach

Former coach John Stiegelmeier (Jan. 19) – 14-1 record and FCS national title in 2022, 199-112 in 26 overall seasons

New coach Jimmy Rogers (Jan. 19) – Spent 10 seasons as an assistant at his alma mater, serving as defensive coordinator on the 2022 national championship team

Coach G.J. Kinne (Dec. 2) – 12-1 record in 2022; named new Texas State coach, but will coach UIW through FCS playoffs

New coach Clint Killough (Dec. 15) – UIW alum has been on coaching staff since 2018 and was elevated to associate head coach in January 2022

Former coach Scott Wachenheim (Nov. 20) – 1-10 record in 2022, 24-62 in eight overall seasons

New coach Danny Rocco (Dec. 3) – former Liberty, Richmond and Delaware coach with 121-65 career record

Weber State (Big Sky)

Former coach Jay Hill (Dec. 7) – 10-3 record in 2022, 68-39 in nine overall seasons

New coach Mikey Mental (Dec. 20) – promoted from offensive coordinator; was 16-2 in two seasons guiding Division II Notre Dame College
