The 2021-22 English Championship season has finished, with free-scoring Fulham winning the title in style with 106 goals on the way. Marco Silva’s side be playing Premier League football again in 2022-23 after just a single season in the second tier.
They weren’t the only side enjoying a promotion party, with Bournemouth following them in the automatic promotion places in second, while Nottingham Forest won promotion back to the top-flight after 23 seasons away. Steve Cooper’s turnaround at the City Ground was completed in the play-off final with a victory over Huddersfield Town, after they’d successfully dispatched of Sheffield United in the semis.
At the wrong end of the table, it was Peterborough United, Derby County and Barnsley that succumbed to the drop, to be replaced by promoted Wigan Athletic, Rotherham United and Sunderland for 2022-23.
